Safe Navigation of Underwater Robotics in Unknown Environments
Research overview
The research investigates safe navigation strategies for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) in unknown and unstructured environments, where limited sensing and environmental features pose significant challenges. The research aims to develop a robust and adaptive control framework for collision-free and reliable navigation. The methodology includes system modelling in simulation environments, algorithm development using approaches such as model predictive control, reinforcement learning, and SLAM, followed by validation in simulations and controlled field trials.
